Special Issue: Indigenous Nursing and Health Issues
Volume 28 Issue S1

Deadline for Manuscript Submission: 30 May 2012 

We invite the submission of manuscripts for a special issue of Nursing Praxis in New Zealand on indigenous nursing and health issues.

Globally, indigenous people experience unacceptable inequalities in their health status and health outcomes compared to other people living in their respective countries. Nurses have a role in improving the quality of health service delivery and contributing to improved health outcomes.

We are inviting manuscripts that address indigenous nursing and health issues that attend to the following areas:

  • Education of indigenous nurses
  • Recruitment and retention of indigenous nurses
  • Improving health service delivery when working with indigenous people, their families and community
  • Health promotion
  • Public health
  • Mental health and substance abuse
  • Social considerations
  • Historical trauma
  • Domestic violenceManuscripts must be submitted by the above deadline, and conform to the author guidelines.

Manuscripts must be 3000-4000 words in length, and will undergo a blind peer review process.
