Abstract:
Introduction
I remember the excitement when nurses were offered a local nursing degree programme, there appeared to be a hunger for nursing knowledge, for professional growth, and for answers to questions about the way nursing was being practised. I applied to join a programme because I loved nursing and wanted to be better at it. I wanted the public to recognise the valuable contribution that nursing made to society and I saw the updating of the qualification as one way to achieve some of this recognition.
