Abstract:

It is generally recognised that the brain is more than just an organ; it is the seat of coordination, creativity and intelligence.  Thus, even though Dementia is described as brain failure, it is not to be compared with other organic diseases such as heart failure.  T is not only an organic illness, but a personal illness, it diminishes the personality (Symonds, 1981).
