Abstract:
This paper explores the underlying assumptions about teaching, learning and knowledge as it relates to the four learning theories – behaviourist, cognitive, humanist and critical. The assumptions of these four theories are exposed with metaphorical adaptive use of the Cinderella story. It is this author’s intention to provoke discussion and arouse interest regarding the four approaches to teaching and learning.
